What we’re about

WebAssembly is a binary instruction format for a stack-based virtual machine. WebAssembly (abbreviated, Wasm) is designed as a portable compilation target for programming languages, enabling deployment on the web for client and server applications. (webassembly.org, 2021)

We host regular presentations by leading industry professionals, followed by time for Q&A and discussion/networking. Events are broadcast online as well as hosted in-person in Chicago.

Are you a full-stack developer? A backend developer? A frontend developer? An infrastructure engineer? Interested in the cutting edge of both browser development and cross-platform server-side compute environments? Join us to see how WebAssembly can be used and is evolving in your area of software development.

WebAssembly Chicago Meetups are free to all, though an RSVP is appreciated for capacity planning purposes.

WebAssembly Chicago is independently managed by volunteers. Please message the organizers with any questions or concerns on conduct or find them during an event.

WebAssembly Chicago is part of WebAssembly North America. Find more info about Wasm NA.
